Description: The final recorded photograph of the wild North African or "Barbary" lion, captured as it walked through the sands of Morocco. Despite being hunted for centuries, particularly by the Assyrians and Romans, the Barbary Lion became extinct in the mid 20th century. The photograph was taken by Marcelin Flandrin in 1925.
